Originally constructed by the Carr-Ryder and Adams Company (CARADCO) and during its heyday was one of the largest millwork companies in the world. This three-story brick warehouse evolved over time and became known as the Main Plant occupying an entire city block in the heart of Dubuque’s Millwork District.
Leveraging Federal and State historic tax credits the entire building was rehabilitated into mixed-use space including 72 apartments on second and third levels and commercial office and retail space on first. This project and building served as a catalyst for additional future rehabilitation work in the Millwork District.
A courtyard forms a unique space used for various markets and entertainment events throughout the year.
