Engine House No.1

One of the oldest surviving firehouses in Dubuque, Engine House No.1 was rehabilitated to house social services. Historic window and door openings were reconstructed with custom twelve-foot-tall wood doors that were locally fabricated. The masonry pediment was reconstructed, and a replicated timber framed bell tower installed.

The project was funded in part by Federal and State historic tax credits, all work was designed to meet the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation.
