After years of study and thoughtful deliberation, Dupaco Community Credit Union decided to transform a historic millwork factory into their operation’s center blocks from the foundation of the credit union in 1948. The company occupies three floors and enjoys a new roof top addition that gives views of the surrounding millwork district. The character of the interior space was sensitively retained and functions as a modern office. New wood brackets of the reconstructed exterior dock canopy were re-sawn from Douglas fir beams and columns salvaged from the building. The resulting project pays homage to building, business, and community.

The project was funded in part by Federal and State Historic Tax Credits, all work was designed to meet the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation.
